The Veterans Day Parade Returns, Business After Hours and Shows Galore

Choose one of the events happening in and around the area to fill your week. I’ll be highlighting attractions, activities and festivals right here, every week. From local music and shows to options for those of you who don’t mind traveling a bit, there’s something for everyone. Be sure to check all activities as cancellations may occur. Friday

Cambridge Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony. Celebrate our local veterans by attending the Cambridge Veterans Parade and Service. Organized by the Cambridge VFW, the parade is due to start at 10 a.m., with a service to follow on the steps of the courthouse. For more information, call 740-439-9180. Wheeling Avenue, Cambridge.

Saturday

The Oak Ridge Boys. Come check out these country music legends. Grammy, CMA and ACM award winners, known for hits like “Elvira” and “Bobbie Sue.” Dailey & Vincent and Jimmy Fortune join the evening entertainment. Doors are scheduled to open at 6 p.m., with the headliners scheduled to take the stage at 9 p.m. Tickets range from $40-$70 at time of writing and can be purchased by visiting www.capitoltheatrewheeling.com. Randy Gleason. Stop by The Barn and watch Randy Gleason. Shawnee native Gleason has played guitar most of his life and brings his talent to Zanesville. The show is due to start at 7 p.m. For more information, call 740-455-2276. The Barn, 1947 Linden Avenue, Zanesville.

Tuesday

Business after hours. Who said networking couldn’t be fun? Stop by the Area Agency on Aging Region Nine office at 5 p.m. to chat and get to know other local professionals. Hosted by the Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce, this recurring event takes place at various locations across Cambridge and is open to anyone looking to make more connections. November 19

Spine. The Horseshoe Bar & Grill in Duncan Falls is once again home to the rock sounds of Backbone. This local band from Byesville is sure to get you pumped with their mix of classic rock, current favorites and country hits.   • Saturday. Crows and Brooms Mystic Faire & Witches’ Ball. Vendors will have booths opening at 11 a.m. for shopping, with a masquerade ball following the event. The cost is $5.
