    Broadway star-turned-Parisian diva Ashley Park is officially back as Mindy Chen in Emilie in Paris. The 30-year-old plays Lily Collins’ best friend in the hit Netflix series, which dropped Season 2 just days ago.

    In one of the final episodes, Ashley shines on stage, showcasing the talent that landed her as the original Gretchen Wieners in the film’s Broadway adaptation. Bad girls. And, her costume is breathtaking.

    Ashley looks beyond her form in a half-sheer, rhinestone and feather-covered suit, and half a tuxedo – yes, it can. Cue washboard abs and strong arms for days:

    Ashley’s health and fitness journey began in high school, when she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. After six rounds of chemotherapy, Ashley was finally in remission and has been cancer-free (“8 years now, woohoo!” She shared with Fit for broadway).

    Since then, “I have developed a personal understanding with myself that I will do whatever I can to be good for my body,” Ashley said. “I discovered that when I got out of the hospital, the theater became the place where I felt the most fulfilled.”

    Of course, it takes a pretty intense fitness routine to prepare for grueling Broadway rehearsals and eight-show-a-week schedules. But Ashley seems to consider it a science.

    “I’ve always been a cardio girl. You can most often find me on an elliptical or treadmill watching an episode of ‘Chopped’,” she said. Fit for broadway. When it’s hot outside, she also enjoys running in Central Park, and she swears by Pilates.

    “If my current job requires intense singing, I opt for swimming to exercise my lung capacity and breathing strength,” she added. “And I am a huge fan of cycling.” Bikram yoga classes are another Ashley favorite, but she says the heat can dry out her voice, so she saves them for weeks of lighter performance.

    Food wise, Ashley has a huge sweet tooth, but she will only indulge in the best desserts she can find (she calls this “prioritizing quality”, I call it smart). “When I want a cupcake, I want the BEST tasting cupcake in the world,” she said.     And, she can’t get enough of Juice Press’s hot tea and Mother Earth drinks. Ashley also enjoys making her own dinner using the hot and cold bars from Whole Foods. “It sounds a little bit appetizing, but I like to taste it all, and my cast mates have gotten used to seeing Ashley’s ‘mishmash’ dinner container,” she explained.

    But she lifted one of her favorite health tips straight from the French. “The secret to well-being that I learned in France is that wine can cure everything!” Ashley said Byrdie. In that case, book me a ticket!
