Features: Q— Photos and Inquiry by Julie Wiatt

What is the meaning of life?

Nancy Pritchard: "How we can all fit in without causing any further destruction."

Forrest Pritchard: "It's impossible to answer, but we're eight months pregnant, so for us the meaning of life is to perpetuate life."

Sasa Storing (with Moses): "To love dogs. I love dogs passionately. There are other meanings, but that's the most intense one for me now."

George Englund: "It seems to me the meaning of life is to live."

Christine Larson: "The meaning of life is to serve others."

Tim Wolf: "I actually don't know, but I could guess. I think it's to maintain the balance of nature. People do a lot of balancing, and a lot of unbalancing too. But if there were all plants, that wouldn't be balanced either."

John Pitt: "Wow. I think the meaning of life is to be happy. That's why we're here--to laugh, smile, crack jokes."

Evelyn L. Scott: "The meaning of life is having the most blessed extraordinary experience, that affords the one who takes it seriously an abundance of everything."

Giuseppe Cimmino , with Giovanni: "The meaning of life is figuring it out before you're too old to enjoy it. I can say that because I'm 45 and he's my first child. If I'd figured it out earlier, I'd have started earlier."
